Can I take deposits when clients book online?
Yes. Set a deposit per service (fixed amount or percent of the price). The client pays at booking time via Stripe or Windcave; the rest is settled at the appointment. No-shows are charged the deposit automatically.
Does it work with my Instagram bio link?
Yes. Drop your Mahi Time booking link into your Instagram bio (or the Instagram Action Button if you have a Business profile) and clients book without leaving the app.
How is this different from Fresha or Timely?
Fresha charges a 20% commission on every new client from their marketplace. Timely is now US-owned and tiered into premium add-ons. Mahi Time is one flat NZD fee, no commissions, no premium tier. The full comparison is at /alternatives.
How many stylists can I add?
No limit. The first 2 are included in the NZ$109/month plan, then NZ$21/month per extra stylist. No volume discount above 10 because we don't want our pricing to advantage chains over owner-operators.
Can clients book by service AND by stylist?
Yes. Clients pick the service first (cut + colour) then choose a specific stylist or "next available". Skill flags on the staff profile control who shows up for which service.
